Proverbs 11:6 (NLT)
“The godliness of good people rescues them; the ambition of treacherous people traps them.”

The Power of the Rescue

Godly living is your ultimate rescue plan. It doesn’t just defend you; it delivers you from trouble and snaps the chains of bondage. In this Proverb, “good people” aren’t just those who do nice things—they are the ones who choose God’s will over man’s agenda. They are the ones who have determined in their hearts to keep the main thing the main thing, refusing to compromise righteousness for the sake of convenience.
This doesn’t mean you won’t face trials or endure hard times, but it does mean your godliness will never fail you. God is legally obligated to His Word and His Name. When you walk in obedience, you are tethered to His promises. Conversely, the treacherous have no such insurance. By choosing ambition over alignment, they compartmentalize God and walk straight into the traps of their own making. Success without integrity is just a shiny cage.

The Practice:

The Seven-Point Audit

1. The Kingdom Priority Shift
You must undergo a total realignment. Matthew 6:33 is not a suggestion; it is a mandate. Godly priorities must trump personal priorities without exception. You must commit to the “Seven Rights”: Seek to do the Right Thing, the Right Way, for the Right Reason, expecting the Right Results, to benefit the Right People (Others), for the Right Purpose (Glorifying God), according to the Right Authority (His Word).
2. Weaponize Your Habits
Because we are born into a fallen nature, sin is our default “norm.” To break that cycle, you must intentionally make Holiness a Habit. Holiness is not an emotion you feel; it is a practice you perform consistently until it becomes your regular nature. Don’t wait for a “feeling” to be holy—start the practice today.
3. The Motive Check-Up
Just because you think you’re right doesn’t mean you are right. Your own perspective is a biased witness. You need the Word of God to act as a forensic tool to correct and protect your motives. Even if you think something “needs to be said,” if it fails any of the Seven Rights listed above, it is wrong. Period. Exonerate yourself from the need to be right and submit to being righteous.

Today’s Declaration:

“I am resigning from the ‘Ambition Trap’ today! I refuse to let my personal agenda override God’s alignment. I am choosing the ‘Integrity Extraction,’ trusting that my godliness will rescue me from every snare. I am making holiness my habit and the Word my final authority. I am doing the right thing, the right way, for the glory of God alone!”

Your ambition will trap you, but your alignment will track you toward victory. Today is a great day to make a Fresh Start!
God bless,
