Proverbs 20:5 (NRSV)
“The purposes in the human mind are like deep water, but the intelligent will draw them out.”
The Mechanics of the Extraction
Too many people are living dangerously below their divine purpose and potential. This Proverb reveals that human purpose is not shallow; it is hidden away in “deep water.” It cannot be scooped up casually. The search, the pursuit, and the ultimate extraction require blood, sweat, and tears. But the struggle is rewarded beyond measure—both for the traveler who discovers their design and for the wise, discerning guide who labors to draw it out.
This is the exact mantle of the Pastor and the Mentor: to act as a kingdom access point, anchoring believing travelers and helping them pull up the hidden treasures of their destiny. Think of great leaders like Coach Joseph M. Lane out of Houston, whose Full Potential mantle demonstrates how an amazing, anointed guide can consistently push youth to reach past their raw abilities on the field and tap into their true potential in life. You cannot navigate these deep waters alone; you need an intelligent, Spirit-filled guide to help you drop the bucket.
The Practice:
Tapping the Undercurrent
1. Defy the Superimposed Narrative
Stop acquiescing to the world’s superimposed lies about who you are, what you look like, and why you are here. Romans 12:2 commands us to “be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” You had absolutely no say in the conditions of your past, but today you have a sovereign opportunity through the transformative power of the Word of God to overwrite the enemy’s programming and inhabit your true design.
2. Become an Agent of Agitation
Be a help, not a hindrance, to the body of Christ. Allow God to use you as a diving tool to aid another person in their journey. Sometimes, being a true kingdom helper means acting as an “Agent of Agitation.” It means refusing to let the people around you settle for a shallow, comfortable existence, and holding yourself to that same strict standard. Comfort is the enemy of the deep.
3. Execute the P.U.S.H. Protocol
You must P.U.S.H.—Pray Until Something Happens! Do absolutely nothing without an altar call. Enlist war-room prayer partners to stand on the wall with you. Allow God to direct and order your steps, which strictly includes managing the work of your hands and the output of your mouth. Actively scan your environment for the strategic guides He sends to help you achieve your purpose, and deliberately ditch the losers who are trying to anchors you in the shallows.
Today’s Declaration:
“I am resigning from the ‘Shallow Life’ today! I refuse to live one more second beneath my God-given potential or buy into the superimposed lies of the culture. I am diving into the deep waters of my purpose. I welcome the holy agitation of godly mentors, I am executing the P.U.S.H. protocol in prayer, and I am drawing out the true design God placed inside my spirit!”
Purpose doesn’t float on top—you have to be willing to dive for the treasure. Today is a great day to make a Fresh Start!
God bless,
+Pastor Kris
