Proverbs 24:6 (NLT)
“So don’t go to war without wise guidance; victory depends on having many counselors.”

The Formula for Disaster

We live in an intensely emotion-driven society. We are constantly prompted by a stimulus, and instead of seeking sound guidance and wisdom, we react purely on a fleshly impulse. Let’s be clear: a wise person does not deploy to war relying solely on their own strength, their own knowledge, or their own limited ability. To do so is a guaranteed formula for a total collapse.
When you are trapped in your emotions, you can easily convince yourself that your reckless plan is right or that your impulsive decision is sound. It is only later, when the smoke clears, that you realize it was the dumbest choice you could have possibly made. Countless children are born as the direct products of two people making hot and heavy decisions in a temporary moment, entirely absent of any guidance or generational wisdom. You cannot win a lifelong campaign with an afternoon impulse.

The Practice:

Building the War Room

1. Choose Winning Over Being Right
You have to ask yourself the hard question: Do you want to win, or do you just want to be right? Have you ever been so entirely sure of a move that you deliberately shut your ears to anyone else’s input because you were terrified they might change what you were planning to do? That exact resistance is your red flag. It exposes that you are hiding from accountability. This is the exact reason many people avoid the local church and avoid the pages of the Bible—they are driven by the fear that God is going to disagree with their toxic desires and disrupt what they want to do.
2. Calibrate True Intelligence
Wisdom is not measured by how much raw information you have stored in your brain. True Kingdom wisdom is measured by how humble you are to intentionally surround your life with people who are wiser than you, and consequently, your absolute willingness to listen and submit to them when they deliver godly counsel. If you are the smartest person in your war room, your campaign is already compromised.
3. Break the Emasculation Trap
Victory strictly requires many counselors. We must expose the psychological warfare of the enemy: Black people in America, and specifically Black men, have been so systematically emasculated by the structures of this country that they frequently view the pastor and the spiritual elders as threats or enemies to their personal success. They have become weary of letting one more voice tell them they are inferior or incompetent, so they isolate themselves to protect their ego. This demonic lie must be completely obliterated by the Word of God. We must actively pursue spiritual liberation, coming together to emphatically trust God’s perfect, cooperative model of victory.

Today’s Declaration:

“I am resigning from the ‘Solo Soldier Syndrome’ today! I refuse to deploy into the battles of life relying purely on my own strength, my own logic, or my emotional impulses. I break the spirit of isolation and ego. I am building a strategic war room of godly counselors, I submit my plans to wise guidance, and I choose the humility that leads surely to victory!”

Isolation is an ambush—true victory requires a council. Today is a great day to make a Fresh Start!
God bless,
