Proverbs 25:8-10 (NLT)
“[8] Just because you see something, don’t be in a hurry to go to court. For what will you do in the end if your neighbor deals you a shameful defeat? [9] So discuss the matter with your neighbor, and don’t betray another person’s secret. [10] Otherwise, anyone who hears will insult you, and your bad reputation will never leave you.”
The Vision Test
We must answer a critical question today: Are your eyes a blessing, or are they an active test of your character? With all the wonderful wonders that God allows you to witness, it is a dangerous waste to spend your time micro-investigating the lives of your brothers and sisters. Human vision is frequently judgmental, tainted, and deeply colored by personal thoughts, unresolved emotions, past traumas, and a fallen nature. Consider how effortlessly the flesh chooses to believe the absolute worst about someone based on incomplete data.
Believers were never designed to handle family affairs in public courts or secular arenas.
To trust Kingdom business to the hands of a foreign kingdom is a travesty and an embarrassment to the body of Christ. As 2 Peter 1:3 guarantees, God has already given us everything required to live a godly life. Some things are permitted into your line of sight so that you can offer help, stand in prayer, or redirect a brother—and sometimes, you are permitted to see simply so you can observe and learn in silence. Premature accusations and false conclusions cause severe spiritual damage. Jumping into situations where you have no true context only invites an embarrassing public defeat.
The Practice:
The Prayer Interrogation
Take all matters directly to God in prayer before you open your mouth to a third party. Interrogate the situation by asking: Lord, what is it that I am actually seeing here, and what do You require of me in this matter? Refuse to let your initial emotional reaction dictate your response. Let the Holy Spirit filter your vision before you build an accusation.
The Kingdom Protocol
If an issue is serious enough to threaten the peace of your environment, handle it according to the word. Go directly to the individual in private. Follow the standard of Matthew 18:15 and bring a mature, Spirit-led witness with you to establish truth. Never broadcast a private grievance on a public platform or run to outside systems to validate your offense.
3. The Irreversible Release
Recognize that words do not possess a retraction button. Once a false conclusion or a toxic accusation is released into the atmosphere, the resulting wounds take an incredibly long time to heal. Be absolutely certain of the facts, and even more certain of your assignment, before you choose to speak.
4. The Benefit of the Doubt
Maintain a high level of humility by remembering a simple reality: you look like something to someone else right now. Just as you desire others to extend mercy to your misunderstandings and blind spots, you must be instantly ready to offer the benefit of the doubt to those around you.
Today’s Declaration:
“I refuse to run with premature accusations or trust Kingdom affairs to a broken world. I drop the pride of a judgmental eye and the habit of drawing false conclusions. I will take my observations to God in prayer first, protect the reputation of my brothers and sisters, and speak only what is anchored in truth and grace. I choose to offer the same benefit of the doubt that I require for myself, and I am moving on His Word today.”
Today is a great day to make a Fresh Start!
God bless,
