The Topography of Truth

Proverbs 8:2 (NLT)
“She stands on the hilltop and at the crossroads.”

Wisdom is Not a Secret

Wisdom doesn’t hide in a dark alley or a locked vault. According to Solomon, she stands where she can be heard and where she is most needed. She calls from the Hilltops—places of high visibility and audibility. God’s wisdom is “broadcast” in the high places of our lives so that everyone has access to the frequency of Truth.
She also stands at the Crossroads. These are the intersections of life—the places where business is transacted and where engagements happen. Physically and spiritually, Wisdom positions herself right in your pathway. She meets you at the point of decision. If you are facing an intersection of indecision, look up. Wisdom is already there, standing at the junction, waiting to direct your next move.

The Practice

Heeding the call

1. Eliminate the “I Didn’t Know” Excuse
Wisdom is readily available to anyone with a desire for it. We often make foolish choices not because we lacked information, but because we chose not to listen to the counsel that was standing right in front of us. Ignorance in the presence of Wisdom is a choice, not an accident.
2. The Law of Non-Imposition
Wisdom will call out, but she will never force her way in. She is loud, but she is not an invader. She will stand at the crossroads of your life, but she will not violate your free will. You have the sovereign right to do something stupid—Wisdom will watch you do it, but she won’t stop you unless you heed her voice.
3. The Visibility of Truth
She stands! Truth is always taller than a lie. Wisdom is clearly visible above the fog of falsehood and the noise of foolishness. God strategically places wise counsel around you—in mentors, in the Word, and in the “checks” of your spirit—to ensure you have the victory daily.
4. Substance Over Style
Wisdom may not always look appealing to the flesh. Sometimes she tells you to wait when you want to run, or to give when you want to keep. She might not be “glamorous,” but she is always right. Don’t look for the “shiniest” option; look for the one standing on the Hilltop of Truth.

Today’s Declaration

“I recognize that God’s wisdom is not hiding from me; it is calling to me. I choose to listen at the crossroads of my decisions. I will not ignore the loud counsel of the Spirit, and I trade my own ‘appealing’ ideas for God’s righteous direction.”

Wisdom is standing at your next decision. Will you listen or will you lean on your own understanding? Today is a great day to make a Fresh Start!
God bless,
