Who has the Lead

Proverbs 11:3–5 (NLT)
“Good people are guided by their honesty; treacherous people are destroyed by their dishonesty… The godly are directed by their honesty; the wicked fall beneath their load of sin.”

The Lead and the Load

What is guiding you? What are you being led by? If you find yourself perpetually without peace or joy, it is because you are being led by your circumstances, your emotions, or your ego—rather than the Word of God. The enemy wants to turn your life into his personal playground, but to do that, he needs your permission to occupy your mind.
There is no reason for a child of God to be moping, doping, and coping. There is no reason to be mean-mugging, thugging, or straight-up bugging! This behavior is not the fruit of God’s Spirit; it’s the fruit of an unsubmitted mind. Your behavior follows your beliefs. If you truly believe God, then you must let Him take the lead. No excuses, no explanations, and no negotiations.

The Practice

The C4 Strategy

1. Stop Reacting
Life brings challenges. Stop acting surprised when trouble shows up at your door! The Bible tells us plainly that in this world, we will have trouble. The goal isn’t to avoid it, but to be prepared for it. Hope for the best, but keep your spiritual armor on for the worst.
2. Activate C4
To change your life, you have to change your “lead.” Use this four-part blast to clear the way:
 * Choose: Make a conscious decision to respond differently to your triggers.
 * Change: Move from “reacting” to “right-acting.” Stop letting people pull your strings and start letting the Spirit pull your heart.
 * Charge: Charge your faith by remembering and rehearsing God’s past victories. If He did it then, He’s going to do it now!
 * Chill: Rest in His will. Chill in the assurance that God is faithful. He hasn’t failed yet, and He’s not about to start with you.
3. Don’t Panic in the Pivot
You will stumble. You might even fall. But when you slip, don’t trip. Don’t let a mistake turn into a lifestyle. Fess up your mess-up and get back up! God is a Master Restorer. As Paul said in Philippians 3:13, focus all your energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.

Today’s Declaration

“I am handing the lead over to the Holy Spirit. I am done moping and coping; I am choosing to be guided by the Truth. I activate my C4 today: I Choose right, I Change my actions, I Charge my faith, and I Chill in His will. My past is behind me, and my victory is ahead of me.”

God can take your breaks and make something great. Today is a great day to make a Fresh Start!
God bless,
