Proverbs 12:5 (NLT)
“The plans of the godly are just; the advice of the wicked is treacherous.”

The Character of Your Calendar

The intent and the outcome of your plans reveal the true contents of your character. A godly plan is built on justice, meaning it seeks what is right, fair, and beneficial for all. As Paul reminds us in **Romans 8:28**, God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love Him. When your plans align with God, they become a “working together” for the good of yourself and everyone your life touches.
Conversely, the advice and plans of the wicked are treacherous—they are venomous, self-serving, and eventually damaging to everyone. You cannot build a “Good” life on “Treacherous” advice. Your plans are the blueprint of your heart; if the blueprint is crooked, the house will eventually fall.

The Practice:

Auditing the Action

1. Eternal Vigilance
Everyone who speaks into your life does not necessarily mean you “good.” You must be keenly watchful, ever awake, and spiritually alert. How do you maintain this vigilance? By staying in constant communication with the Source. When you are saturated in prayer and the Word, and when you are listening to the messengers God has sent, your “spiritual radar” will immediately detect treacherous advice.
2. Motive Before Movement
Check your motives before you take action. It is a dangerously short trip from “doing the right thing” to “doing the wrong thing for a selfish reason.” If your motive is to get even, get ahead at someone else’s expense, or get glory for yourself, your “movement” is already off-track. If the motive isn’t just, the outcome won’t be either.
3. The Attitude Adjustment
Our actions are driven by our attitudes. If your actions are looking “strange” lately—if you are being short with people, cutting corners, or neglecting your duties—your attitude is the culprit. The best way to fix a broken action is to fix the attitude through prayer. A consistent prayer life doesn’t just change your situation; it adjusts your attitude so you can handle the situation with Godly justice.

Today’s Declaration:

“I am an architect of justice today. I refuse to entertain treacherous advice or self-serving plans. I am checking my motives before I make my movements, and I am choosing to align my heart with the good of the Kingdom. My attitude is anchored in prayer, and my plans are working together for the good of all!”

A godly plan doesn’t just get you to the destination; it honors God along the way. Today is a great day to make a Fresh Start!
God bless,
