The Boomerang Effect

Proverbs 26:2 (NLT)
“Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an unfair curse will not land on its intended victim.”

Spiritual Immunity

The unpredictable, fluttering nature of a bird’s flight is the perfect illustration of a baseless curse. A sparrow doesn’t fly in a straight line, and neither does a hater’s ill will. If you are walking uprightly, you do not need to fear the “curses,” “voodoo,” or “naysaying” wished upon you by others. Why? Because an unfair curse has no “landing gear.” It will not prevail; as this proverb states, it simply won’t land on its intended target.
In fact, spiritual law often dictates that the malice intended for you may return to the one who pronounced it. Look at Nehemiah 13:2: the Ammonites and Moabites hired Balaam to curse God’s children, but the Lord wouldn’t allow it. He turned the intended curse into a blessing! As the Psalmist said: “Let them curse me if they like, but you will bless me!” (Psalm 109:28).

The Practice

Rejoicing in the Shield

1. Haters are Markers
Haters are often just “helpers” in disguise. Their opposition acts as a reminder that you are on the right road and making the right choices. Remember, the Ammonites only got upset when God freed Israel from Egypt. Some people simply cannot stand to see you move from “bondage” to “blessing.” Their noise is just proof of your progress.
2. Hold on to the “No Weapon” Promise
The Word is clear: no weapon, no curse, no nasty look, no hostile HR department, and no ill-willed manager formed against you will be able to succeed. It doesn’t say the weapon won’t be formed; it says it won’t prosper. If anything, the very thing meant to stop you will ultimately be the thing God uses to promote you.
3. Hurry Up and Holler!
We usually praise God for the blessings we can see. But have you considered the “invisible victories”? Think about the things He protected you from that you never even saw:
 * The sickness that tried to settle but had to move on.
 * The accident that missed you by a split second.
 * The “loser” relationship that failed before it could destroy you.
 * The incident that was supposed to rock your boat, but instead of worrying, you just went to sleep.
You better hurry up and holler! Go right on rejoicing because His protection is your permanent residence.

Today’s Declaration

“I am uncursable because I am God-blessed. No word spoken in malice has a place to land in my life. I will not be distracted by the fluttering of the swallow or the noise of the sparrow. I choose to rejoice in the invisible protection of the Most High, knowing that what was meant for my harm is being turned for my good.”

A curse without a cause is just a bird without a branch. Today is a great day to make a Fresh Start!
God bless,
