Proverbs 8:9 (NLT)
“My words are plain to anyone with understanding, clear to those who want to learn.”

“Can You Hear Me Now?”

Years ago, a popular cell phone commercial featured a man traveling from place to place asking one question: “Can you hear me now?” It was a powerful campaign because it forced the listener to inspect the quality of their connection. Similarly, Wisdom has been asking that same question since the origin of time. She is speaking plainly, but the question remains: Do you have an ear to hear?
Paying attention to the words of Christ offers guidance to the most ignorant and saves them with the knowledge of the Truth. Unlike silver, gold, or rubies, Wisdom is the only thing that can actually bring peace and integrity to fruition. So, if the message is plain and clear, why is it so hard to hear?
The problem isn’t the Transmitter; it’s the Receiver.
Are you listening on the wrong frequency?
Are you out of range because you’ve wandered too far from the Word?
Have you gotten caught up in the performance of religion while becoming absent in the pursuit of relationship?
Sometimes, there is just too much noise. Your own desires are turned up so loud that the plain, simple voice of Wisdom is getting drowned out.

The Practice:

Tuning the Receiver

1. Establish a New Understanding
Begin with Understanding. This is the capacity for discernment and right comprehension. As Romans 12:2 suggests, this requires a mind that is transformed—moving away from what is convenient, common, and comfortable. You cannot hear a “New Word” with an “Old Mindset.”
2. Cultivate a Holy Hunger
Do you truly have a desire to learn? This is more than a casual interest; it is a sincere longing born out of a “holy disgust” for your current conditions—mentally, physically, and spiritually. Wisdom only reveals her depths to those who are tired of living in the shallows.
3. The Power of the Pivot
The final piece is Choice. You must take action by “hearing”—and in the Kingdom, hearing is synonymous with Obeying. It is acting upon the Truth you already know. Hear it, believe it, become it, and then OBEY it. In spite of every reason your flesh gives you to stay put, you must do what Wisdom tells you to do.

Today’s Declaration:

“I am clearing the static out of my life today! I refuse to let the noise of my own desires drown out the plain voice of Wisdom. I am turning the dial of my heart to the frequency of the Holy Spirit. I am done with religious performance; I am choosing a radical relationship. I hear, I believe, and today, I OBEY!”

Wisdom isn’t whispering; you just have to stop shouting. Today is a great day to make a Fresh Start!
God bless,
