Proverbs 28:4 (NLT)
“To reject the law is to praise the wicked; to obey the law is to fight them.”
Order vs. Chaos
The “law” mentioned here refers to the divine order and precepts found in the Word of God. It also reflects the laws of our land—provided they do not contradict the higher law of Heaven. In a culture that glamorizes the “rebel” and the “radical,” followers of Christ are not called to seek out opportunities to be defiant or belligerent.
To reject the law is to inadvertently side with and support the wicked. It is exactly what Proverbs 29:18 warns: “When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild.” When you step outside of God’s order, you step into chaos. But when you obey the law and accept God’s divine guidance, you are actively fighting against wickedness. Your obedience isn’t just a “good deed”; it is a strategic strike against the kingdom of darkness. Whoever obeys the law doesn’t just find order—they find happiness, joy, and peace.
The Practice
Strategic Submission
1. Consult the Master Architect
Rejecting the law often starts with something as simple as making your plans without consulting the Master’s plan. Are your goals for today in alignment with God’s will? Before you build your day, check the blueprint. When you “run wild” with your own ideas, you leave the door open for the wicked to take root. A fresh start begins with a daily check-in with the Commander-in-Chief.
2. Peace is Your Weapon
Seek peace. Don’t “rumble” if it isn’t necessary. We often think fighting evil requires a loud protest or a physical confrontation, but one of the most effective ways to fight wickedness is simply to obey God. Your quiet, consistent obedience to the Spirit creates a perimeter of peace that the enemy cannot penetrate.
3. Stand for the Unseen Truth
While we seek peace, we must also be prepared at a moment’s notice to stand up when the Truth is rejected. Fighting against unrighteous living means being the “standard-bearer” in your workplace, your home, and your community. You don’t have to be loud to be lethal to the enemy’s plans—you just have to be upright.
Today’s Declaration
“I am not a rebel of the world; I am a soldier of the Kingdom. I choose to fight wickedness today by simply obeying the Word of God. I refuse to run wild with my own plans, and I submit my schedule and my spirit to the Master’s divine guidance. My obedience is my victory.”
The most radical thing you can do in a chaotic world is stay in God’s order. Today is a great day to make a Fresh Start!
God bless,
