Proverbs 16:7 (NET)
“When a person’s ways are pleasing to the LORD, he even reconciles his enemies to himself.”

The People-Pleasing Trap

We waste an extreme, exhausting amount of our time trying to please people, only to end up disappointed and failing miserably. Human beings are notoriously difficult, if not completely impossible, to appease. The moment you stretch yourself to make one individual happy, another one is instantly angered by your choices. Man is inherently fickle, emotional, and unstable.
The strategy of the Kingdom is completely different: you must intentionally spend your gifts, your skills, your talent, your time, your hard effort, and your cognitive energy seeking exclusively to please God.
When your ways are pleasing to Him, a supernatural law is activated: even your fiercest enemies will have to get in line. God is awesome, and He alone possesses the absolute capacity to manage everyone and everything positioned around you. As Malachi 3:6 guarantees, He is the God who changes not—He does not shift with the cultural wind or alter His standard based on an emotional trend. You can completely depend upon and trust Him. Proverbs 3:5 explicitly commands you to trust in the Lord with all your heart and forbids you from depending on your own limited human understanding. The God of Scripture is completely reliable and permanently trustworthy. Stop trying to manage people and start aligning your ways with the King.

The Practice:

1. Trust God, Love People
Make an uncompromised, daily effort to ensure that your private actions, your hidden thoughts, and your daily activities are in full alignment with the written Word of God. You are called to love people as an act of obedience, but you are commanded to trust only God. Stop reversing this order by putting your trust in man and treating God like an afterthought.
2. Starve the Problems, Feed the Promises
Force your mind to think continuously on God’s promises instead of obsessing over your temporary problems. You must prioritize reading, studying, and actively meditating on God’s Word on a daily basis. Refuse to allow worldly noise, social media critics, or toxic opinions to become louder in your life than absolute biblical truth.
3. Re-Anchor Your Significance
Treat everyone the absolute best you can, but establish a strict boundary over your heart. Acknowledge that your personal significance, your ultimate acceptance, and your security are found exclusively in Jesus Christ—not in the opinions of man. Stop seeking human approval. Choose to live a life that aggressively strives to please God, and allow Him to handle everyone else.

Today’s Declaration:

“I refuse to waste valuable energy chasing human approval or trying to please a fickle world. I drop the exhausting burden of people-pleasing, and I choose to please God alone. I will align my thoughts, my budget, and my ways with His Word, trusting Him to manage my critics and handle my enemies. My significance and security are locked into Christ.”

Today is a great day to make a Fresh Start!
God bless,
